Family law attorney Olivia Scott

Olivia Scott provides sophisticated and solution-focused legal representation for clients facing complex family law matters. She guides her clients in preparing for the future by identifying key concerns and creating strategies to achieve their long-term objectives. This approach allows clients to make informed and sound decisions for themselves and their families with confidence.

Any legal dispute involving a family can have long-term repercussions, but divorce and similar cases are particularly consequential. Olivia is mindful of the challenging circumstances that families affected by these situations encounter. She hopes to alleviate the financial and emotional burdens of divorce and separation by assisting her clients in resolving their disagreements outside of court, unless litigation is necessary.

After completing an internship with the Office of General Counsel in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Olivia began her legal career as a clerk for the Family Law Group formerly of Feldesman Tucker. These experiences have given her a solid foundation from which she can serve clients knowledgeably and compassionately.

Since 2018, Olivia has volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care. This role has made her acutely aware of the unique challenges children face during child custody disputes and the long-term significance of assisting families in developing conflict resolution strategies.

Olivia graduated with honors from The George Washington University Law School with a concentration in Family Law. As a student attorney in the Family Justice Litigation Clinic, she represented individuals in contested divorce and child custody disputes. Her attention to detail, client-centered case strategy, deliberate litigation approach, and exemplary case outcomes earned her the Clinical Legal Education Association’s Outstanding Clinic Student Award. Olivia also helped couples settle their disagreements outside of court while she was in law school as a third-party mediator. Her creative problem-solving abilities and exemplary professionalism proved invaluable in assisting parties to reach mutually beneficial agreements. Before beginning her legal career, Olivia obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and worked in consulting.

Olivia, licensed to practice in Maryland, represents clients in all aspects of family law.
