DC and MD family law attorney Tofarati Oba

Tofarati (Tof) Oba is a family law attorney at Tucker. She represents clients in all family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support and domestic violence cases. With a detail-oriented and empathetic approach, Tof works tirelessly to advocate for clients and help them navigate some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Before joining Tucker Family Law, Tof worked as an associate at a Washington, D.C., law firm, where she developed a strong foundation in courtroom litigation. She maintained an active pro bono practice in family law, representing clients in custody cases, mediations and hearings at the D.C. Superior Court. Tof also served as a guardian ad litem, advocating for children’s best interests.

Tof earned her Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law in Durham, N.C. During law school, she served as an executive on the Moot Court Board, as a senior staff editor for the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy, and participated in the Children’s Law Clinic. She also pursued coursework in Family Law and explored the role of gender in negotiation.

Before law school, Tof earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, which has given her unique insight into the emotional complexities of family law cases.

She is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

When not in the office, Tof enjoys anything nerdy including reading any fiction she can get her hands on and playing Dungeons and Dragons.

"My goal is to be a compassionate resource that helps you navigate through the legal system and out toward your ideal future.”
